I have a personal Thanksgiving tradition. Every year, I set my alarm to get up early so I can watch the sunrise on Thanksgiving morning.
It’s my way of making sure I start the day by being quiet and thankful for the simple joy of another morning. On this morning, I hiked in the Haskell Canyon Open Space near my home and made it to my favorite spot on the trail just before dawn to take in all of the colors that only reveal themselves in the morning twilight. There are so many things to be thankful for, life, food, shelter, the blessing of living in the United States, my friends, and my beautiful family.
Today, I wish for everyone the opportunity to be still… to break from the pace of everyday life and take some time to contemplate the many reasons we have to be thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
