A Beanie That Reads Your Mind?

From the article, "it’s possible Sabi’s founders have massively underestimated how advanced their brain foundation model really is." Ya think?

Do VC's just have too much money? Even a quick look at the established science around this would lead me to run in the other direction. It took all of five minutes to find the real science.

Most of the good results come from surgically implanted electrode arrays sitting directly on the motor cortex of a single patient with extensive per-subject calibration. That is the high-water mark, invasive, single-user-tuned, in a clinical setting. Sabi's claim is comparable performance, non-invasively, off-the-shelf, generalized across users, in a beanie. I'm more than a bit skeptical.
