I gave my initial reaction to Color yesterday. Today I was able to test it in the wild.
I talked Audie Chamberlain into downloading the app at lunch and snap some photos with me, since that’s the only way the app actually works. I have to say, the interface is pretty awesome and I loved how the photos from the other user showed up in the grouping. What I really wanted to see was what it linked to if I tweeted. So I did.
Much to my delight, the link was not to a single photo, but to ALL of the photos being taken in that grouping. So, I can see how it would be fun and useful in a setting like RETech South next week. But what I was just as surprised by was that there is no way to go any deeper than that photo grouping. There is no way to get to any of the user information, at least in this early release. This video will illustrate.
I believe that’s something the obviously bright folks at Color should change. If I tweet out a photo grouping and you’re watching from afar, you might want to dig a little deeper. What do you think?
