A Quick Look At Lockify

April 14, 2011 By Jeff Turner 4 Comments

Shiny objects still have the power to steal my focus.

This morning I received an email inviting me to a private beta for Lockify.com and I couldn’t resist giving it a try. It’s a simple service. It does one thing – encrypts messages. In doing so, it allows you to send sensitive information in a secure environment. You can set the parameters around how long or how many times the message can be viewed and you can require that the viewer authenticate who they are in one of three different ways; retrieving a code sent to their phone, answering a question or logging into their gmail account. I like it. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Here is a quick look behind the scenes.

Wow, Jeff – we’ve been procrastinating on a screencast for months and you bang an excellent one out in minutes. And can we borrow your voice? Ours are much geekier. 🙂

As a thanks, if any of your readers would like early access to the private beta they can email me at jtemplin@lockify.com with mention of this post.

    Thanks again,

Jack, I’m glad you like it. It’s not polished, but it does give a quick look. Thanks for stopping by and offering up access to the private beta. Well done.

Interesting tool. I recently sent my accountant some sensitive docs via DropBox. Love the idea of having a set expiration and verification control.

Brad, I’m looking forward to some “mission impossible” style messages.
