Someone Is In Control Of Your Reputation. Is it You?
I’ve not been shy about expressing my opinion that real estate brokers should be leading the charge to “raise the bar” in the real estate industry. The responsibility for managing brand and reputation falls squarely on their shoulders. And in the wake of continued talk about agent review sites and rating systems, what has really been missing is a simple way for real estate brokers to effectively survey buyer and seller clients to collect their own data about their reputation in their market, their brand. What has been missing is an easy way to get a clear picture of why consumers are or are not making the decision to use their services. What has been missing is an easy way to collect customer testimonials or elevate problems so they can be addressed before they go viral in social media.
Fate is an interesting beast.
I was honored to be invited to speak at AREC11 in Sydney, Australia last May. As a result, Kevin Turner asked if I would do a couple of interviews for RE Uncut on the trade show floor. The interviews were being sponsored by an Australian Real Estate reputation focused startup called RealSatisfied.com.au. After completing one of the interviews, I approached the two Australian founders, Phil Kells and David King, to get a demonstration of their product. My immediate reaction was, “I don’t believe there is anything like this in the United States. And there should be.”
After a full demo in my Sydney hotel room, and numerous skype calls upon returning to the United States, it became clear that RealSatisfied was a product that could fill a gap here in the US market. It was not long after returning that I gave Chris Drayer at Finch Marketing a call to see if he would be interesting in taking the lead on marketing the product in the US. Thankfully, Chris was as excited about the potential of the product’s potentially positive impact on Real Estate reputation management as I was.
Beta testing for RealSatisfied.com is currently underway in 4 markets in the US – with solid positive feedback.
